5.1. Add a server

  1. Click “+ Add a server” — The “MySQL / MariaDB Server” window opens.
  2. Give it a clear name — Example: “MySQL 8.0 — Production” or “MariaDB 10.11 — Staging.” The description is optional.
  3. Choose the type and series — Select MySQL or MariaDB, then the corresponding series. SQLmig will then check the exact version.
  4. Set the allowed roles — Leave Source checked to allow backups. Leave Target checked only if this server should be able to receive imports.
  5. Enter the connection details — Choose UNIX socket or TCP, then enter the required parameters.
  6. Save — Click Save. SQLmig verifies the connection and the server’s identity before adding it to the list when the required client is available.
